Xander Psathas Joins The Bushari Team

We're very excited to welcome Xander Psathas as our new rental agent on The Bushari Team!

Intuitive, detail oriented and punctual, Xander strives to offer the highest level of professional counsel for his clients. His extensive background in luxury retail has allowed him to understand the importance of listening to his clients, interpreting their needs and exceeding their expectations.

The foundation of Xander's career as a professional Realtor® began as a synthesis of his proficiency in customer service and his practice in interior design. His design background has been an invaluable asset in enabling buyers to better envision their new homes. Xander's goal is to ensure that his clients find a place in the world that they can truly call "home".

We sat down with Xander to hear what he's most looking forward to as a part of the team.

originalQ: Welcome to the team, Xander! What would you say is your favorite part of this business?

Xander: My favorite part of the business is getting to know my clients, finding out what their needs are, what makes them tick and finding them a place where they can be happy, whether it's for a few years or a lifetime. It's an amazing feeling to know that you have helped someone with one of the biggest decisions of their lives and you were there with them every step of the way.

Q: What is your educational background?

Xander: I went to school for Interior Design and Fashion Merchandising at the Art Institute of California - San Diego.

Q: How would you say your background in interior design has helped you in the real estate industry?

Xander: Nowadays, with the influx of home renovation shows, so many people walk into a home and just start seeing dollar signs adding up and up and up. It can be very hard for people to view a home that isn't theirs and get past wall colors furniture selection.

Having a background in interior design helps me respond to clients questions and concerns and put them at ease. I once spent an hour and a half with a client in her new home helping her redesign the layout, what colors to paint the bathroom and why, where to place new built in cabinets, how to make the kitchen appear larger by using different wall colors and treatments, etc.

It helps put my clients at ease when they know you understand where they are coming from when it comes to aesthetic and why they may be hesitant towards putting in an offer when they can't envision the home the way they want it. Luckily, I can help with that!

Q: How long have you lived in your community?

Xander: I've been a part of the Dorchester community for 5 years!

Q: What is your favorite thing about your community?

Xander: I love how many of my friends live in the area and its close proximity to the T, breweries, distilleries, wineries, the beach, Dog Island, 24 hour bowling and more. The area has changed so much in the 5 years that I have been there and can't wait to see its further growth.

Funny enough. Morgan Bradler and Chris Thoman from the Bushari Team were my agents when I was purchasing my home!

Q: Do you have any pets?

Xander: I have 2 cockapoos, Khali and Loki. Khali is almost 12 and Loki is 5.

Q: What made you choose a career in real estate?

Xander: I have worked in the retail industry for 20 years and was ready for a new challenge. I went to school for interior design and working in retail helped me hone my customer service skills. When I got the itch to leave retail and pursue something else, real estate popped into my head as a great way to continue to use and hone my customer service skills but also tap into my interior design education.

Q: Are you a member of any organizations or volunteer groups?

Xander: I volunteer with OUTMetroWest which is a youth group focused on the LGBTQI+ community.

Q: What do you feel you do best in your field?

Xander: Having worked with the general public for so long, one of the biggest things that I would try and instill in my managers and associates was to never judge a book by it's cover and treat everyone like a person, rather than just another transaction. The more you talk to people, listen to what they have to say and have a real conversation with them, the easier it is to help them along a purchase, whether it's a handbag, a new pair of jeans or a new home!

I found clients of mine a property located in their ideal neighborhood which is just down the street from where I live. They both told me that I listened to exactly what they were looking for and went above and beyond to ensure they were the clients chosen for this property. I always make myself accessible and consistently make sure I am available to assist my clients with whatever their needs may be.
